61QSIIM Stanchion

61QSII
The 61QSIIM Stanchion System has two hydraulically-powered mast assemblies, located on either side of the runway overrun area. The masts can support either a High Performance (HP) net or Multiple Element Net (MEN) engaging device, and may be used with any energy absorbers to safely stop aircraft from overrunning the end of the runway.

The 61QSIIM stanchions are raised and lowered by remote control from the ATC (Air Traffic Control) tower, in synchronization, using electro-hydraulic power, and are held in the raised position by a mechanical over-center locking mechanism. In the event of power failure, or during maintenance, the stanchions may be actuated manually from the runway site. Sufficient pressure is stored in the system accumulators for the manual actuation of a complete raise-lower cycle. Additional accumulator capacity can be added to meet specific needs.
