Combined Systems

Combined Systems ESCO's combined systems increase the utility of other aircraft arresting equipment. Model 62NI and 63PI interconnects, used in the overrun area of a permanent airfield, provide the means to install a second engaging hook cable or net/stanchion system behind the first hook cable. This configuration increases the opportunity of making a successful engagement for both hook-equipped and hookless aircraft.
Both engagement systems are connected to the same energy absorber via an interconnect system. This system consists of a steel-cable connecting member with specially designed fittings at both ends. The 62NI/63PI interconnect is mounted on concrete pads along the runway edge, and connects around a pair of anchors to the engaging system. Tension is applied to ensure that the interconnect components are not dislodged by normal ground traffic.
